"Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art."

- Andy Warhol

Malvern Hills 'Walk & Sketch Days' are just that, walking the beautiful Malvern Hills drawing and painting some of the inspiring scenes available. Views right out into the Black Mountains or the Brecon Beacons in Wales or out to Bredon Hill and the Cotswolds beyond, cottages, trees, picturesque roads and tracks as well as the local wildlife. A 'day' is actually around 4 hours which is plenty enough time but 'day' sounds better than saying 4 hours...!

Antony has been working part time for the Malvern Hills Conservators field staff for almost a decade and knows the Hills extremely well, so it would be a guided walk with art instruction (if desired) or simply shown a decent place to sit and draw. The small group of 4 or 5 (a minimum of 2) will then return to Antony’s studio in his home for refreshments to work up their sketches or start on a canvas.

Walk & Sketch Gallery

Interested parties must have a reasonable level of fitness i.e. able to walk up a hill on rough ground. Then down again!

The weather can suddenly change from sun to rain so it is advised that people come equipped with waterproofs and walking shoes as well as with sunhats & sun cream and so on.

Bring pencils, pens and compact paints as well as sketch books and so on. But not so much gear that it makes walking difficult. but a flask and lunch box would be a good idea, although there are some great cafes we can visit!

Booking is to be done via email or phone. See the Contact page.

The guided walk session will consist of a walk to an appropriate place instruction if needed/wanted, watercolour paper or a canvas to work up your sketches once back at the Inner Picasso Studio, plus tea and coffee etc and a lift back to your vehicle.

Please email, text or call to book 'walk and sketch' time.

Prices:  4 hours £80.
           3 hours £70
           2 hours £60
           1 hours mini/taster session £25
